Jesus Llamas and Kirby Cunningham (Youth Directors)
Jesus (Chuy) Llamas graduated from AHS in 2013 and is currently attending Ivy Tech with the intent of teaching history someday. He has been attending First Presbyterian Church for almost 10 years now, and has enjoyed every minute of it. He was a part of the Youth Group for 7 years, and has had a lot of wonderful experiences that has helped make him who he is today. Throughout his journey at First Pres he has sung in numerous choirs, rung in the handbell choirs, been on many different mission trips, and has attended some really interesting retreats. The Lord did an amazing thing when he led him to this church, and it has changed him for the better. "I am so excited to be co-leading this group with Kirby. We have lots of things planned to help make this group grow and become everything the kids want and need it to be. Please plan to join and become a part of this amazing group!”
I’m so excited to be co-leading the “Prezzy” Youth program with Chuy at 1st Presbyterian church! I’ve attended this church my whole life, went through the youth program, sang in the youth choirs, bell choirs, mehola dance group, drama groups, etc. etc. I have been a deacon and an elder in the church, and I currently am also the contemporary worship leader for our 1st@11 service.
I attended Anderson High School, and I received a degree from Anderson University in Music Education. I currently teach part-time at St. Mary’s and St. Ambrose’s schools in Anderson. I also have a private studio of piano and voice students. I am finishing a secondary certification/degree from St. Mary of the Woods in Music Therapy. When I’m not doing things with church or work, I thoroughly enjoy spending my time directing and acting with our community’s Mainstage Theatre. I am an active board member and treasurer for the organization.
I love youth, music, and learning, so I feel blessed to be in this position! I look forward to the activities and service that we are going to be involved with through “Prezzy” Youth. Praise God for the youth in our church!
