Reverend Kevin Bausman
The most important thing for people to know about me is that I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He is my First Love. Closely following Him is my love for my wife and family. Mary Jane and I have enjoyed 34 years of a blessed marriage, sharing both the joys and the challenges life brings . Mary Jane has been a nurse (RN) at St Francis Hospital in Indianapolis for 23 years. She has her certification in medical surgical nursing and is currently working in geriatric medicine. We have been blessed with three wonderful children and a wonderful daughter-in-law. Our oldest son, David, is an attorney with the Indiana Department of Agriculture. His wife, Katie, works with the missions agency, Overseas Council on Theological Education. Our second son, Jon (who is an Anderson alum '08 and MBA '09) works at Fusion Alliance, a digital marketing company in Indianapolis. Our daughter, Christine, is a senior at Greenwood Christian Academy and is looking forward to starting college in the fall. As for myself, after graduating from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA., I attended Gordon - Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA where I received my Master of Divinity degree. Following seminary, I did an internship at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, a 3000 member suburban church. Following this, the first church I served as an ordained pastor was Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church in Franklin PA, a 250 member small town/rural church. This was followed by serving as Head of Staff at West Presbyterian Church,a 430 member urban church in Binghamton, NY. From there, we moved to the Midwest where I served for over 21 years as Missions Pastor at Southport Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, a 1400 member suburban church. During the last 2 1/2 years at Southport, I also served as Acting Head of Staff ( in addition to being Missions Pastor). For the most recent years following Southport, I have been the Interim/Stated Supply Pastor at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, a 100 member inner city, predominantly African American church. Throughout the years of my pastorates, sharing and serving Christ through local and international missions work has been a passion of mine, leading missions trips to different nations including Brazil( 7 times), France, Greece, Albania, Mexico, Hungary, Croatia, Germany, Poland, and China. In Brazil, I served as an adjunct professor at Londrina Bible Seminary, teaching on missions and Islam, and Mary Jane and I together taught on marriage and family life in the pastorate for the seminarians. We were also blessed and honored to have taught House Church Leaders and the Back to Jerusalem Missionaries in China. Further, I am a trained Stephen Leader and a trained Interim Pastor. More recently, for my own growth and enrichment, I took the 16 week Perspectives Course on the World Christian Movement ,which covers the whole breadth of Christian missions throughout history and today. In this new chapter of life and ministry ahead at First Presbyterian Church of Anderson, Mary Jane and I greatly look forward to getting to know each of you and worshipping and serving our loving Lord with you.
